Cholesterol coaching, online
Bring your numbers down, without giving up Indian food.
A nutritionist plans meals from your lipid report, a coach adds walks and strength training, and every week we check in on both. Your doctor stays in charge of medicine.
Online, 1-on-1, Indian meals. We work alongside your doctor and never change medication.

From our coaching data
High cholesterol: what we see in real coaching
Abnormal cholesterol is the most common metabolic problem in Indian adults, and most people find out from a routine blood test with no symptoms at all. Your doctor decides on medicine. The food, weight and activity side is where coaching helps, and the evidence is honest about what each one moves.

How our nutritionist and coaches handle it
From recorded YourTrainer sessions and chats, members anonymised.
Start from the blood test
Our nutritionist asks for your lipid report at the first call, along with vitamin D and B12, and plans from your actual numbers rather than a generic list.
Medicines stay with your doctor
Members on statins or blood thinners keep their doctor's plan. Our nutritionist works the meals around it and never suggests stopping anything.
Change the cooking, keep the food
Shallow-fry or pan-fry instead of deep-fry, and paneer, soya, rajma and chole for protein. Eating out stays in the plan: the nutritionist asks whether it is usually fried food or something like idli and dosa, and works on that one meal.
Weight and movement do the heavy lifting
Losing weight, a daily walk and two or three strength sessions a week are what our nutritionist pairs with the food changes. Members hear plainly that cholesterol improves with weight loss and activity, not with one superfood.
“Obviously cholesterol will be controlled. If you lose weight, if you do proper physical activity, it will control.”
What the published evidence says
Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology · 2023
81.2% of Indian adults surveyed had dyslipidaemia, meaning at least one of LDL, triglycerides, HDL or total cholesterol out of range.
ICMR-INDIAB-17: metabolic non-communicable disease health report of IndiaLipid Association of India · 2024
Indians tend to get heart disease earlier, so the LAI asks doctors to weigh lifetime risk and sets LDL goals by risk group. Your target comes from your doctor.
LAI 2023 update on cardiovascular risk assessment and lipid management in Indian patients: Consensus Statement IVFrontiers in Endocrinology · 2024
Across 28 trials, interval training lowered triglycerides by about 20 mg/dL, but no exercise type significantly changed total cholesterol on its own.

Lifestyle advice on diet, activity, weight and smoking comes alongside, not instead of, a decision with your doctor about statins.

See your doctor first if
- Get urgent help for chest pain, breathlessness or pain spreading to the arm or jaw, especially during exercise.
- Tell your doctor and us if you take statins and get new, unexplained muscle pain or weakness.
- Very high LDL, or a parent or sibling with early heart disease, needs a doctor's review before you rely on diet alone.
- Coaching supports your doctor's plan. It does not replace lipid tests or medicines.
YourTrainer coaches are fitness and nutrition professionals, not doctors. We work alongside your doctor and never change medication.

Common questions
How can I reduce cholesterol naturally?
Lose weight if you carry extra, cut trans fats and deep-fried and bakery food first, eat more fibre from dal, oats, vegetables and fruit, walk daily and strength train two or three times a week. These help, but how far they go depends on your starting numbers and genes, so check with your doctor whether you also need medicine.
Does exercise lower cholesterol?
It lowers triglycerides reliably: a 2024 review of 28 trials found interval training cut them by about 20 mg/dL. The same review found no significant change in total cholesterol from exercise alone. That is why we pair training with food changes and weight loss, not training on its own.
What is a good Indian breakfast for high cholesterol?
Something with protein and fibre and little fried or bakery food: besan or moong dal chilla, vegetable poha with peanuts in moderation, idli with sambar, oats upma, or curd with fruit. Puri, bakery biscuits and packaged snacks with vanaspati are the ones to cut first.
How many eggs can I eat if my cholesterol is high?
Our nutritionist usually keeps members with high cholesterol to about two whole eggs a day and uses egg whites for any extra protein. Your doctor may advise differently based on your report, and their advice comes first.
Can I stop my statin if I diet and exercise?
No, not on your own. Only your doctor can change or stop a statin. Many people need both medicine and lifestyle change, and we coach the lifestyle side alongside whatever your doctor prescribes.
Is this for people in India only?
No. Coaching is online, so members in India, the US, the UK and the Gulf join. Plans are written around Indian food and your local groceries.
