Personal Trainer in Chennai, Live Online from Your Home
Live 1-on-1 online personal training with a certified coach, a nutritionist and app tracking. Plans run ₹8,000 to ₹18,000 a month, with a ₹499 trial session to start.
Live 1-on-1 coaching for people in OMR, Velachery, T. Nagar, Adyar, Anna Nagar and Nungambakkam. Your coach joins you on video, corrects your form as you move and changes the plan every two weeks.
Short answer: Yes. A certified coach can train you live on video from a Chennai flat with no gym. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes at a fixed slot. Chennai's humidity and heat make a home session the more reliable choice for much of the year, and the early morning and late evening slots fit OMR and ECR work days.

Chennai schedules: the windows that work
In Chennai the hottest part of the day runs from late morning to mid-afternoon for much of the year, so the sessions sit before 7 AM or after 6 PM. OMR and ECR work days are long, so the plan also keeps a short lunchtime slot for people who sit most of the day.
5:30 AM to 7:00 AM
Before the heat
The air is still cool enough for a full strength session in the living room. Many Chennai clients start here.
1:15 PM to 1:55 PM
Lunch on desk days
A 35 to 40 minute mobility and strength block for people in OMR or Siruseri offices.
8:30 PM to 9:45 PM
After dinner
For people whose day runs late, with dinner done and the family settled.
Traffic on OMR and the East Coast Road can make an office evening much longer than the session. A session at home starts when the coach logs on, so the drive stops being the reason you skip.
Next step
The discovery call is free and takes about 30 minutes. Your coach looks at your schedule and sets your training slot with you.
A week in Chennai
What a training week looks like for a Chennai client
Chennai clients often work long OMR or ECR days, so the week is built around a before-work slot and a short evening block. The example below is a pattern we set up with clients, adjusted to each person's day.
Your days, your times. You pick the days and the hours, in your own time zone, and a session can move when your week changes.
- MonLift
- TueSteps
- WedLift
- ThuSport
- FriHIIT
- SatFood call
- SunRest
See the week day by day
- MonStrength and conditioning5:45 AM, live strength and conditioning (lower body) on the drawing room floor, about an hour, before the heat and before the Sholinganallur traffic builds. A breakfast photo goes to your nutritionist by 9 AM.
- TueActive recoveryHit the step target your coach set. Fifteen minutes of hip and upper back mobility at lunch, in the office or in a corridor, counts too.
- WedStrength and conditioning6:00 AM, live strength and conditioning (upper body) with bands and a kettlebell, about an hour, on a balcony or by a fan. Sleep time sent that night.
- ThuActive recoveryPlay a sport you enjoy, or take a 30 minute walk before 7 AM. In the monsoon months this becomes a mobility flow at home.
- FriHIIT8:30 PM, live HIIT after dinner with the family, scaled to your level.
- SatNutrition callWeekly nutrition call. Family meals are planned in advance, idli or dosa is counted by portion, and the sambar and filter coffee go in as separate lines.
- SunRestRest. Weight, waist and sleep are logged in the app.
Clients on the East Coast Road often keep a fixed weekday slot, because a late project is the usual reason a session moves. We agree the slots on the first call, and we move a session only with notice so the weekly review still happens.

Where clients train from
Chennai neighbourhoods and what the commute means for training
Chennai's commute is long in parts of the south and west. Online coaching covers every area below from the same video slot, so the question is when your day allows, not how far you live from a gym.

- OMR, Sholinganallur, Navalur and Siruseri. The IT belt. Office hours are long and the drive on OMR can be slow at shift changes. Most clients here train before work or after dinner.
- Velachery, Perungudi and Taramani. Apartment living close to the tech parks. Clients often use a 2BHK drawing room, a balcony or a society gym for the heavier days.
- T. Nagar, Mylapore and Mandaveli. Dense central areas. Evenings are busy with shopping and family, so sessions usually sit early in the morning or after the family meal.
- Adyar, Besant Nagar and Thiruvanmiyur. Close to the coast. Many clients walk on the beach road before sunrise and do the strength work at home in the cooler hours.
- Anna Nagar, Kilpauk and Nungambakkam. Established residential areas. Work is often in the city centre, so a lunch or evening slot is common.
- Porur, Ambattur and Tambaram. Outer areas with a longer commute into the centre. The early slot is the usual choice here, with a home plan that needs no travel.
How online coaching works from Chennai
How a Chennai client trains online, step by step
The first month sets the base. After that the week looks the same each time: one session, a food check-in and a review. The week is three live sessions on alternate days, with active recovery between them.
A 30-minute call about your day
We talk about your goal, your OMR or T. Nagar schedule and what has worked before. We ask what you eat on a working day, and whether the idli and dosa breakfast is a daily habit or a weekend one.
A first four weeks for your home
Your trainer plans sessions for the space you have, whether that is a drawing room in Velachery, a flat in Anna Nagar or a society gym in Sholinganallur. The early weeks use bodyweight and household objects.
Live form checks through the heat
Squats, hinges and presses are watched on camera as you move. The coach cues one thing at a time and checks that the cue held on the next rep. Rest between sets is set from how you recover in humid weather, not from a fixed timer.
WhatsApp check-ins
Send a photo of your plate or a note on sleep. The reply is one specific change, such as a second portion of protein at dinner or an earlier last meal on a long OMR day.
A weekly review and a plan change every two weeks
Weight trend, waist, sleep and the sessions you finished are logged each week. The plan is updated every two weeks from that record, so changes follow what happened, not what you planned.
What your coach does in a session
- Form corrected as you moveYour coach watches every rep on video and fixes your position in real time.About 10 corrections in a typical class
- Shown first, then doneThe coach demonstrates the movement on camera, then watches you do it.67% of sessions
- Every rep counted with youYour coach counts the reps aloud and pushes you through the last ones.Every session we read
- Mobility to startJoints and spine warmed up before any load goes on.At least 82% of sessions
- Stretching to finishSessions close with stretches for the muscles you trained. At least 84% of sessions
- Knowledge you keepThe coach explains why each exercise and cue matters, so you can train well on your own.About 2 in 3 classes
- Habits for the days betweenSteps, water, sleep and protein tasks, checked at your next session.Water and steps come up in about 6 in 10 classes
Corrections, explaining why, water and steps: a sample of recorded classes, 17 Aug to 21 Oct 2026. The rest: 1-on-1 sessions recorded 1 to 21 October 2026, each read in full. Some recordings start after the warm-up, so the mobility and stretching shares are a floor.
And if it is lasting more than 48 hours, it means your recovery is not proper.
Food from Chennai
Idli, dosa and sambar counted on raw weights
Chennai breakfasts are built on rice and black gram. The batter ingredients are the nearest rows in the national nutrition table, so the plate below weighs the raw rice and urad dal that go into idli and dosa batter. [1] A cooked idli or a dosa with filter coffee is not a row in that table, so we do not put a number on it.
An idli and dosa batter plate, weighed raw
Values are per 100 g raw from IFCT 2017. Sambar uses toor and other dals that are not rows in the table, so sambar is not counted in this plate. Your coach agrees the number of idlis or dosas, the sambar and the oil with you, and each one is added as its own line.
What a Chennai food routine means for protein
A common Chennai day is idli or dosa in the morning, rice with sambar and rasam at lunch, and curd rice or a light dinner. Carbohydrates dominate that pattern, so the protein has to be placed on purpose. Raw black gram, the pulse in batter, carries 23.06 g of protein per 100 g in the national table [1]. A portion of it in the morning, with an egg or paneer added, is the simplest way to lift breakfast protein without changing the dish.
Sambar and rasam are low in calories and useful for fluid and vegetables, but the table does not give a value for the sambar itself, so we count the dal and vegetables that go into it as separate items. Filter coffee is counted as a drink with milk and sugar, and the number of cups is agreed on the review call.
Festival weeks and family meals are where the plan is most tested. Pongal, Deepavali and weddings bring sweets and rich dishes. Our approach is to keep the sessions, keep the protein portion at breakfast and adjust one meal around the celebration, rather than dropping the plan for the week.

Weather and training
Chennai heat and humidity, and how sessions adapt
Chennai's heat is steady rather than extreme, and the humidity is what makes outdoor work hard. Much of the year is warm and humid, and the northeast monsoon from October to December brings rain that keeps people indoors. Home training is the reliable option for most of the year, and the plan is built to run indoors from the first week.
- Hot months, roughly April to June: sessions move to the before-heat slot, and the room stays on a fan or AC for the rest of the day. Warm-ups are longer so the first set starts properly.
- Humidity all year: rest periods are set by how you feel and your recovery, not by a fixed timer. Water and electrolytes are part of the weekly check.
- Northeast monsoon, roughly October to December: the same sessions run indoors. Rain does not cancel a session, and the outdoor walk is replaced by a mobility flow.
- Early mornings: the cool hours before the traffic builds are the best window for heavier sets, and most Chennai clients keep the earliest slot for their hardest session.
Honest comparison
When online coaching is the better fit in Chennai, and when it is not
Online coaching suits you if
- Your work is in OMR or on the East Coast Road and a gym means a long drive in the evening.
- The humidity and the heat stop you training outdoors, and you want a plan that works indoors all year.
- You want a live coach who watches your form, not an app that counts reps.
- You want idli, dosa, sambar and filter coffee kept in the week, with the portions set properly.
A local trainer may suit you better if
- You want a coach to spot you on a heavy bench or squat in a gym. Online coaching cannot physically spot you, so very heavy barbell work is limited at home.
- You like the energy of a group class with people in the room. Our coaching is 1-on-1, so the room is your own.
- You have an injury that needs hands-on treatment. A physiotherapist should lead that part, and we coordinate with them.
- You want in-person training in Chennai now. In-person training currently runs only in Bangalore, so Chennai is on the waitlist.
Local prices
What Chennai coaching costs and what it covers
We have not found a published personal trainer price range for Chennai from a source we can cite, so this page does not quote one. Our own plans are listed below with what each one covers.
| What | Range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| YourTrainer online coaching | ₹8,000 to ₹18,000 a month | Starter, Core and Elite. Each includes live sessions, nutrition and a weekly review, and the session count is the difference between them. |
| YourTrainer trial session | ₹499 | One live session before you choose a slab, so the format and the coach can be judged first. |
For context only: Cult.Fit lists personal training packages of ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month in Delhi and Mumbai, and Gold's Gym lists ₹1,500 to ₹2,500 per session in Delhi [2]. Those are not Chennai prices, and a per-session booking is a different product from a monthly live plan.
Chennai gyms and trainers: when they are the better choice

Some Chennai people are better served by a gym or an in-person trainer. The list below is about fit for your day and your goal.
| Option | Range or fit | When it is the better choice |
|---|---|---|
| A gym near your home in Anna Nagar or T. Nagar | Monthly membership | Better if you want a full rack, machines and the company of other lifters, and you can get there in under 20 minutes after work. |
| A studio with a personal trainer on the floor | Per session or package | Better if you need a trainer to load the bar and spot you. Ask whether the trainer you book is the one you will train with each week. |
| Online coaching with YourTrainer | ₹8,000 to ₹18,000 a month | Better if the OMR or ECR commute is the real problem, if your evenings change each week, or if the heat keeps you from outdoor sessions. |
A good question to ask any trainer, online or in person: how do you check my form, how often do we review progress, and what changes if I miss two weeks?

Questions from Chennai
Frequently asked questions
I'm in T. Nagar or Adyar with a full family schedule. How would sessions fit in?
Around your family, not the other way round. The free call covers your goal and your routine, then your trainer plans sessions for your home space. Sessions are live and one-on-one at your slot, in the drawing room, on the balcony or in an apartment gym. Your trainer checks your form in real time for 45 to 60 minutes and reviews progress every week. In a busy family week the session moves one day rather than being dropped.
I live in OMR / Velachery / T. Nagar. Can you cover my area?
Yes. Online coaching has no geography limit. We have clients across OMR (Sholinganallur, Navalur, Siruseri, Karapakkam, Perungudi), Velachery, T. Nagar, Adyar, Besant Nagar, Nungambakkam, Anna Nagar, Kilpauk, Mylapore, Egmore, East Coast Road, Porur, Ambattur, Tambaram, Chrompet, Pallavaram and Saidapet. The slot is what we plan around, because the commute in each of these areas is different.
Can I meet my trainer face to face in Chennai?
On screen, yes. In person, not yet. In-person training currently runs only in Bangalore. Every live session is face to face on Zoom or Google Meet, which is how your trainer watches your movement. If you would like someone in the room, join the Chennai in-person waitlist and we will tell you first.
Can I train with zero equipment in my Chennai apartment?
Yes, that is a normal way to begin. Bodyweight programming uses push-up, squat and lunge variations, resistance work with household objects, bodyweight circuits and mobility. If you add kit later, bands (about ₹400), a yoga mat (about ₹500) and one kettlebell or dumbbell (₹800 to ₹1,500) stay under ₹3,000 in total, and your plan says when each item earns its place.
Can you handle South Indian food culture. Idli, dosa, sambar, sappadu?
Yes. Plans start from real breakfasts: idli and dosa with the portion agreed, paneer or egg for protein at the same meal, sambar and rasam with rice in a measured portion, curd, and filter coffee counted as a drink. Raw black gram, the pulse in batter, carries 23.06 g of protein per 100 g in the national table [1]. The aim is protein-first eating and sensible carb timing, not a plan that asks you to give up Tamil food.
How do you handle Chennai's heat and humidity?
Most training is indoors all year. In the hotter months the hard sessions move to the early morning, the room runs a fan or AC, and warm-ups are longer. Rest between sets follows how you recover, because humid weather slows recovery more than the clock suggests. The northeast monsoon from October to December is covered by the same indoor plan, so a rainy week does not cancel a session.
I work in OMR Tech Park. How do you handle the long days + ECR / OMR traffic?
This is a common Chennai client profile. Programs are built around 10-hour IT days and the OMR and East Coast Road commute. Early sessions before the traffic builds, or evening sessions after dinner, are the usual slots. Sessions are about an hour and structured so they do not take the whole evening.
Most people in Chennai end up on fitness apps. Why pay for a live coach?
Because a coach watches you move and changes the plan from what they see, and an app cannot do either. Per-session trainers are expensive to keep up each week, which is why many people fall back to apps. Online coaching puts a certified trainer on screen for a monthly plan within the ₹8,000 to ₹18,000 band, with personalized workouts, South Indian nutrition and weekly reviews.
What progress should a Chennai client expect by week 6, and how is it tracked?
By week 6 most clients see visible change, and it is logged rather than guessed: photos, weight and measurements at each weekly review. Energy and strength usually improve within 2 to 3 weeks. A steady pace is roughly 0.5 to 1 kg of fat loss a week, and the plan changes every two weeks from that record, so a slow week leads to an adjustment, not a guilt trip.
Is there a personal trainer near me in Chennai, or can I train with one from home?
You can train with a personal trainer from home in Chennai, live on video. There is no travel to a studio. Sessions cover OMR, Velachery, T. Nagar, Adyar, Anna Nagar and Nungambakkam. In-person training currently runs only in Bangalore, so the Chennai waitlist is where to join for in-person news.
